No holiday season would be complete without a side dish of savory stuffing. Classic holiday stuffing, flavored with cranberries and apples, dresses up any table. Serve holiday stuffing in a variety of ways, including in turkeys, roasts or just plain.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Fill the cavity of a turkey with holiday stuffing. Don't pack the stuffing into the cavity, or it might not cook evenly. Gently spoon it in with room to spare.

  2. Step 2

Remove the stuffing from the bird once it comes out of the oven. Place the stuffing in a bowl and fluff with a fork to keep it from getting soggy.

  3. Step 3

Cook the remainder of the stuffing in a casserole dish in the oven. Once it has finished cooking fluff with a fork.

  4. Step 4

Sprinkle stuffing with a little fresh parsley or sage for some added color.

  5. Step 5

Serve holiday stuffing with roast turkey and top with homemade gravy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Holiday stuffing can be used in a variety of dishes, not just a traditional turkey. You can fill the center of crown roast or de-bone a turkey and fill it with holiday stuffing. You can also stuff roast lamb, pork loin and even fish fillets.
  • Although serving holiday stuffing inside a bird has gotten a bad rap because of food borne illnesses, it is perfectly safe so long as the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
