When you walk into a coffeehouse your eyes may blur over with all of the choices and foreign terms. You can avoid the confusion by making flavored lattes at home. Try a variety of flavors to see what you like.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Brew the espresso. Use high quality coffee beans and either an espresso maker or a coffee press designed for the stove. A standard coffee maker and finely ground espresso beans can suffice. Depending on your taste, make one or two shots of espresso.
Step2
Steam milk in a pitcher with a steaming wand or heat the milk in a pan while whisking constantly until the milk foams and reaches 145 to 165 degrees.
Step3
Put the flavored latte syrup in the mug followed by the espresso and stir. Add any liguor to the drink, as some liquors can make the milk curdle if you add them later. Blend the liquor into the mug.
Step4
Pour the milk into the mug, using a spoon to hold back the froth.
Step5
Add sugar on top of the milk for a sweeter flavor.
Step6
Top the latte off by spooning the milk froth on top of the latte and serve.
