From Quick Guide: Cupcakes
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • Bittersweet chocolate
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Small microwaveable bowl
  • Hand mixer (optional)
  1. Step 1

Place the peanut butter in a medium mixing bowl. Stir in room temperature peanut butter and the milk until the ingredients are thoroughly blended.

  2. Step 2

Shave a bit of bittersweet chocolate into a microwavable bowl, and heat it in the microwave just long enough to melt.

  3. Step 3

Pour the melted chocolate into the frosting mix. Don't use too much chocolate, or it will overpower the flavor of the peanut butter.

  4. Step 4

Continue stirring until the mixture is blended and all lumps are removed. Use a handheld mixer if you prefer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Although the recipe calls for bittersweet chocolate, you can use any type of chocolate you prefer.
  • Spray the measuring cup lightly with nonsticking cooking spray before you measure the peanut butter. The peanut butter will be much easier to remove from the cup.
  • Be sure the peanut butter is at room temperature. If it's colder, it will be difficult to mix, but if it's warmer, the consistency will be too liquid.
