Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Italian espresso
  • Stovetop espresso pot
  • Bottled water
  1. Step 1

Pour bottled water in the bottom chamber of the espresso maker, up to the fill line.

  2. Step 2

Attach the strainer. Make sure that the water level isn't so high that it seeps in. If it does, remove the strainer and pour off some water.

  3. Step 3

Fill the strainer with Italian coffee, and press it down lightly. Don't pack it too hard or it may create too much pressure in the pot. Screw the top of the espresso machine onto the strainer.

  4. Step 4

Place the espresso maker on the stove, with the heat on low. Allow the coffee to cook slowly.

  5. Step 5

Listen for the bubbling of the coffee, and for the sound indicating that the last of the coffee is coming through.

  6. Step 6

Remove the coffee from the stove immediately. If you leave it too long, the coffee will taste burnt.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once you open a package of Italian espresso, place it in a sealed container and store it in the refrigerator to preserve the freshness.
  • Don't get coffee grounds on the rim of the strainer or the espresso maker may not seal, and the coffee can boil out.
