If you want to spice up a homemade pizza or simply add flavor to a delivered pizza, then cheese is the answer. Slather your pizza with some extra mozzarella or really get adventurous and add a three cheese blend to your pie.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cheeses
  • Mixer with shredding and grating blades
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  1. Step 1

Place your cheese in the freezer for 30 minutes before you're ready to shred or grate it. Cheese shreds easier when it's chilled. For this recipe, you can use mozzarella, parmesan, provolone, gouda or romano or a combination of cheeses to make a fabulous cheese blend.

  2. Step 2

Cut the cheese into blocks 1 ½ inches wide. Shred your desired amount of cheese in your mixer with the shredding attachment. Cheese with a high moisture content is softer and harder to shred and grate, so avoid using mozzarella with too much moisture. It's best to grate hard cheeses, such as parmesan, romano and gouda, instead of shredding. Use a grating plate rather than the shredding attachment for these cheeses.

  3. Step 3

Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over already sauced pizza bread. Try not to mix the cheese with the pizza sauce. Layer your pizza with cheese.
