Cut the hair when it's damp. If you just washed the hair, then blot it with a towel to eliminate some of the extra water. Hair is much easier to manage when it's damp, and the results will be better.

Gently comb through the entire head of hair, removing all snarls.

Angle cuts work in a number of ways to achieve similar results. When finishing up a man's haircut, you will use angle cuts to blend one layer of hair into another.

Use this same angle cut process for bangs and the hair along the side of a woman's face, leaving her with a soft, framed look around her face.

Hold the hair out between your fingers by combing it out at a 90-degree angle. With your free hand, cut the hair at the same 90-degree angle, removing all of the excess hair.

Continue with this same process of angling and blending until you have completed the haircut. Sweep up and dispose of all excess hair.
