Things You'll Need:
- Comb
- Styling product
- Roller set
- Roller pins
- Blow dryer
- Hair spray
-
Step 1
Comb and section the hair. If you are using a traditional roller set, you want the hair to be wet. If you are using hot rollers, you want the hair to be dry.
-
Step 2
Apply product to the section of hair that you will roll first. It is best to roll the top of the head, then the sides, back and front. Use small sections of hair so that the hair will dry evenly.
-
Step 3
Piggyback the curls by wrapping the section of hair once around the roller at the base of the head. Pin it into place. Pin a second roller into place after wrapping the hair underneath it. Wrap the remaining hair up and over another roller. Repeat this process until you have created the number of waves that you desire for your hair.
-
Step 4
Continue rolling the hair around the rollers and pinning into place until you have rolled all of the hair.
-
Step 5
Allow the hair to set. If you are using rollers, sit under a hair dryer or blow the hair dry. If you are using hot rollers, allow them to cool, and then blow the hair with a hair dryer to set the curls.
-
Step 6
Remove the rollers by unpinning and slowly unrolling the hair. Do not pull too hard on the rollers since this may cause the curl to fall out.
-
Step 7
Style the hair and set with hair spray.
