If you have curly hair, you can tame those locks into soft, cascading waves by doing a simple piggyback roller set. Although you can do it by yourself, it will be easier, and much more fun, to ask a friend to help you with your piggyback roller set.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hair conditioner
  • Moisturizing shampoo
  • Mousse, styling gel or hair spray
  • Comb
  • Wide, bristle hairbrush
  • Hair clips
  • Hair rollers
  1. Step 1

Shampoo the hair with a moisturizing shampoo, followed by conditioner. Brush the hair carefully to remove any knots or snarls.

  2. Step 2

Spritz the hair lightly with hair spray or spray gel. Use the comb to separate a small section of hair nearly as wide as the hair rollers.

  3. Step 3

Comb a section of hair over the roller, pulling it snugly. Roll the hair about halfway around the hair roller. The remainder of the section will go on the next roller. Clip the roller in place. Spray on a bit more hair spray or setting gel as you work, if you need it to hold the hair neatly in place.

  4. Step 4

Bring the remainder of the same section of hair around a second roller. Roll from under the roller, and roll the hair up halfway around the roller, finishing with the roller directly under the first roller. Clip the roller in place, again leaving the remaining hair hanging smoothly.

  5. Step 5

Wrap the remaining section of hair around a third roller, and bring it up on top of the first two rollers in a pyramid shape. You may need a small roller at this point, depending on the length of your hair. Clip the roller to the first two rollers.

  6. Step 6

Continue rolling the same section of hair on rollers until you reach the end of the section. Repeat the process until the entire head is covered.

  7. Step 7

Let the hair dry naturally, or speed up the process by sitting under a hair dryer for a few minutes. Remove the rollers carefully from the hair, and let it fall into soft waves. Arrange the curls with your fingers, and spray it lightly to hold it in place.
