Curly hair can be viewed as a blessing or a curse. Styling curly hair properly can create beautiful curls that are the envy of most women. This begins with the way that you comb and curl your hair every day.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Comb
  • Hair-setting product
  • Roller
  • Double clip
  1. Step 1

Section the hair into two front sections and one back section. Comb the hair smooth before you begin.

  2. Step 2

Section off your first area to be the same width as the roller that you will be using to curl the hair. Begin at the crown of the head.

  3. Step 3

Comb a thin section of hair. It shouldn't be thick because that prevents it from curling as well.

  4. Step 4

Part the hair so that the edges of the section are square. This prevents the curls from flying away as much.

  5. Step 5

Spray the hair with the hair-setting product. You can also use a gel to set the hair.

  6. Step 6

Roll the hair around the roller. Be sure to tuck the ends down. As you roll, hold the hair tight so that it will roll evenly. Clip into place with the double clip.

  7. Step 7

Add the next roller underneath the first one and continue.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you work in a salon, you may want to start with wet hair since the client can sit under the dryer to set the hair.
  • Perm papers can help with the ends of the hair staying in place. Use these only if you are having a difficult time getting the ends to stay.
