Exfoliating your face should be near the top of your list of essential daily beauty rituals. Twice a day you should plan to pamper your skin and rejuvenate your skin cells. There are many great reasons to do this, from clearer skin and the reduction of blemishes to a natural radiant glow that follows you throughout your day.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Determine your skin type and look for an exfoliating scrub for your skin. For normal to dry skin, find something that has extra hydration and exfoliating beads. For normal to oily skin, look for an oil-free exfoliant that has a more coarse scrub, like fruit shells, pumice, salts or sugars.

  2. Step 2

Apply a small amount of exfoliant on your fingertips, about the size of a nickel. Split the small amount between your two hands and spread it out over your first, middle and fourth fingers.

  3. Step 3

Massage the exfoliant into your facial skin for about 2 1/2 minutes. Be sure to gently cover your whole face, including your cheeks, forehead, chin and the bridge of your nose. This really cleans off your skin and helps remove the dead cells that collect in your pores that can cause breakouts and blemishes.

  4. Step 4

Wash the exfoliant off with a warm, damp cloth. Always wash products off your face using an upward motion to help remove more of the product from your skin and to help prevent sagging around your face.

  5. Step 5

Wash your face first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Exfoliating lotions and scrubs are a great way to get rid of dirt and dead skin and to rejuvenate your skin for health and vitality. You will notice the difference in a week or less if you follow this regime daily.
