Step 1
Cleanse your face before you begin. You can use cleanser and water, baby wipes or makeup-removing wipes--whatever you have handy. Just make sure that there is no makeup residue or oil on your skin before moisturizing.
-
Step 2
Determine your skin type and get a moisturizer that complements your needs. For dry skin, use a moisturizer that is more intensive and that may contain oils to help keep your skin hydrated all night. For oily skin, choose a moisturizer that does not have oil in the ingredients and contains a mattifier.
-
Step 3
Apply the facial moisturizer all over your face. You can use your middle and ring fingers--the best option though a little messy at times--beauty sponges or beauty brushes. Make sure you cover your neck and to your hairline for smooth, seamless coverage.
-
Step 4
Treat your eye area with some extra moisturizer made specifically for the eye area. Gently pat the cream with your ring finger or makeup brush in light dabs. Fill in any areas that may be prone to wrinkles or laugh lines.
-
Step 5
Use a lip conditioner at the beginning of the makeup-applying process. This gives the lip moisturizer a chance to soak into your lips and make them supermoist and plump for the evening ahead. Brush on with a lip brush for best results.
