Things You'll Need:
- Heavy bowl
- Nail art brushes
- Wet rag
-
Step 1
Set up your work area. Place your paint palette, bowl of water and rag next to your dominant hand. Use a heavy bowl for your water, so it is less likely to tip over. Wet the rag you place on the table to help add moisture to the brushes and paint. The rag should be slightly wet but not saturated.
-
Step 2
Dip the nail art brush into the bowl of water. Wipe it against the side of the bowl to remove excess paint and water. Repeat this process until the water you squeeze out of the brush is clear.
-
Step 3
Drag the brush across the surface of the rag to squeeze out any remaining, excess water. Hold your brush completely upright as you do this. Move your nail art brush back and forth across the surface of the rag several times to ensure the water in the brush shaft falls out. This removes any water that might drip onto your nails but retains enough of the moisture to keep your paint wet.
-
Step 4
Check that all paint and excess water is gone. The nail art brush needs to feel slightly wet, but not saturated. Proceed with your next paint color when your brush is adequately wet.
