No beach scene is complete without water. Learn how to mix your polish colors and where to paint to give your nail art beach scene added depth.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dark blue opaque fingernail polish
  • Teal-green metallic fingernail polish
  • White fingernail polish
  • Nail art brush and palette
  1. Step 1

Mix a small amount of dark blue opaque nail polish with a small amount of metallic teal-green polish to create the ideal color for water. Add a small amount of white nail polish for added dimension. Mix the three polishes together on your palette until you create a realistic ocean color for your nail art beach scene.

  2. Step 2

Dip your nail art brush into the mixed polish and begin to paint each fingernail. Brush water over the background colors on the tips of your fingernails. Move from left to right as you paint a thick layer of water.

  3. Step 3

Roll your nails from side to side as you paint them to ensure the water layer covers the entire width of your nails. Brush approximately 1/4 inch down your nail tip. You want the water deep enough so you can paint an island onto the beach scene after the water dries. To give the water some depth, brush on the colors in layers.

  4. Step 4

Let your nails dry completely after you brush a water layer onto each nail before adding more layers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Embellish the water layer. Add thin strokes of white paint to the beach scene to give the illusion of crashing waves.
