If you enjoy wearing nail art, consider adding a beach scene to your nails. It is a festive way to celebrate the summer season or your upcoming tropical vacation. No nail art beach scene is complete without a few clouds. Learn to add clouds to your nail art beach scene to give it more dimension.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • White fingernail polish
  • Thin nail art brush

Step1
Dip your nail art brush into water. Mix a small amount of water with a small amount of white fingernail polish. Thin out the polish so the clouds do not appear too thick when you paint them. Be sure not to add too much water. If you make the polish too thin, your clouds will appear too translucent.
Step2
Brush on your clouds over your beach background. Use short, quick strokes to create one or two clouds just above each cuticle. The edges of your clouds should be slightly uneven to give them a more realistic appearance. If you are not happy with a cloud that you make, simply wipe over it while the polish is still wet.
Step3
Hide flaws in your nail art beach background. Look for any uneven colors in your beach background. Use clouds to hide any flaws you find. Brush over any uneven areas with the white nail polish.
Step4
Let the clouds dry completely before you add any more layers to your beach scene. You don't want to smudge or smear the clouds.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add a palm tree over your nail art clouds when they are dry to give them another beach-themed layer.
  • When you complete your nail art beach scene, use a top coat to seal it. This helps it last longer.
