Step 1
Find a button on the top called the sleep/wake button. The button's a tiny black button on the right side of the phone. It's not actually on the screen part of the phone, but on the silver part.
-
Step 2
Press it and your iPhone will lock.
-
Step 3
Unlock your iPhone by noting the locked screen. You'll see a small bar at the bottom of the iPhone with instructions to slide the bar to the right to unlock your phone actually on the screen.
-
Step 4
Slide your finger along this bar to unlock your phone.
-
Step 5
Remember, you can still get phone calls and text messages even when you've locked your iPhone.

on 10/15/2009 What if the iphone is not locked.
And i dont want to lock it.
Is there any feature that prompts me when i mistakenly click on a name. Salone, sometimes makes a call by just touch.
It would be good to have a prompt that says "Do you want to Call" and a "Cancel" button.
So no call is accidentally made.
