Step 1
Install new brake pads before reinstalling the brake caliper. This is done by placing the wear indicator on the edge of the inboard side. Then stick the shim in and locate the notch and groove. Align the notch and groove into each other and squeeze them together. Do this for the upper and lower portion of both sides.
-
Step 2
Unhook the caliper and discard the caliper hook. Check to make sure the brake lines are not tangled in any way. If the brake lines are tangled or crimped, they will cause brakes to fail when pressed.
-
Step 3
Put your caliper back in place. Find where the two mounting nuts go in. There is an upper and lower mounting nut. Start them both by hand without tightening them down. They are not hardened nuts, so don't tighten them too much. Taking it to a quarter of a turn past tight is sufficient, to avoid breaking the mounting bolt.

Step 4
Double check everything to make sure it is in correctly and tightened down appropriately. This should include checking the caliper, the brake lines, the brake pads and the upper and lower mounting bolts.
