Step 1
Know where the windshield solvent reservoir is located on your vehicle. This is way up underneath the fender of the vehicle. This can be accessed by pulling the fender back and using a telescoping tool to take care of the mounting bolts, or by putting the vehicle on a lift to gain better access.
-
Step 2
Loosen the mounting bolts (an upper and lower mounting bolt) that connect the windshield solvent reservoir mounting to the frame of the vehicle. Once you have these loosened, you can remove them the rest of the way with your hand. Place them somewhere safe as you will need them for re-installation.
-
Step 3
Disconnect the hose from the windshield solvent reservoir. This will not have a hose clamp on it as there are ridges built into it that hold it tight and create a seal between the hose and the opening in the reservoir. Inspect the end of the hose and the hose itself for any damage or cracking. If there is damage, you will want to replace it.

Step 4
Inspect the windshield solvent reservoir for any damage or cracking. Once you have it removed, you can inspect it for damage. If there is damage, you should replace it and any of the components that also look damaged, such as the mounting bolts or hose.
