Glass painting is a hobby that can be shared with others and even turned into a profitable business. Adding white details to your glass painting is a technique similar to the etching appearance that creates beautiful designs that give a much-desired and beautiful effect.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clean workspace
  • Drop cloth
  • Glass piece
  • Paint brushes
  • Water cup
  • Acrylic paints
  • Permanent marker
  1. Step 1

Pick the glass you would like to paint. Take into consideration the idea you are thinking about painting, as the color and shape of the glass may change or enhance the idea you have.

  2. Step 2

Gather the supplies you will need for your glass painting project. This will include an assortment of paint brushes, acrylic paints, a permanent marker, water to rinse the brushes in and a space to work on. You may want to cover your work space in a drop cloth or sheets of newspaper for easy clean up.

  3. Step 3

Decide on and draw the design you are going to use. Transfer that design to the glass and use a permanent marker to outline the design. Use the desired paint color in the areas you want it and paint your glass. Allow the glass to dry completely before going back to add details. This will keep the colors from looking ruddy and running together.

  4. Step 4

Use white paint to highlight areas and brighten the whole look of the design. If you have white areas that you have previously painted, you can also use an extremely fine paint brush to go back and clean up your lines with white paint to make it cleaner looking.
