This trick is a combination of a 360 Shove It ridden in a Fakie position into a 180 Body Varial that moves in the same direction as the Shove It. The way your body turns in the air with the board (the varial) gives this street trick its name of the Big Spin.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start rolling in the Fakie position. Fakie means a skateboarder is riding backwards. Usually the back foot is on the board's tail, but when the boarder is riding Fakie, the foot she usually uses in front is at the tail.

  2. Step 2

Get up to speed. This trick doesn't have to be performed at a fast speed, though as you get better at it, you might want to push it faster.

  3. Step 3

Go into a Backside Shove It. A Shove It is where you flick the board with your front foot so that it pivots around the front wheels while you are in the air. Enter this move from the backside of the board. Make sure the board makes a complete rotation of 360 degrees. Bend your knees, jump, Shove It 360. Watch your center of gravity so that you stay over the middle of your board.

  4. Step 4

Turn your body in the same direction as the board while you are in the air. Keep your eye on the board this entire time so you can keep your body aligned with it. By the time your board has gone around halfway or 90 degrees, you should have your body turned about 90 degrees as well. This is the varial part of the trick.

  5. Step 5

Position your feet ready to land. Especially watch your back foot so that when the board completes it rotation you can set it solidly on the board's tail.

  6. Step 6

Catch the board when it's at about 270 degrees of its rotation with the back foot on the tail and the front planted on the front to lift it up into a manual (wheelie). Finish the remaining 90 degrees in a pivot from the manual to complete the move.
