How to Define Eyebrows for Hobo Clown Makeup

One of the most important things you are doing, when you are applying clown makeup, is emphasizing or exaggerating some of your facial features. Especially if your hair and eyebrows are light, defining them for greater visibility is necessary. Even if your eyebrows are dark, facial expressions are much more comical when accented by lifting a well defined brow.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look in the mirror at the natural shape of your eyebrow. In most cases, you probably want to follow the natural shape of your brow, thickening and darkening it to define it better. Depending on the clown face you are creating, you may want to change the shape of your eyebrow entirely.

  2. Step 2

Practice drawing your clown eyebrows on a piece of paper first, before creating them with makeup on your face, if you are changing your eyebrow shape considerably.

  3. Step 3

Take a black eye liner pencil and draw your clown's eyebrow over each of your eyes. If all you are doing is defining your existing eyebrows, a couple of passes with the pencil to make the brow thicker might be all you need to do. If you are creating a new shape for your eyebrow, or the eyebrow you are making for your clown is much thicker than your own, draw the outline for the brow but leave the center unfilled.

  4. Step 4

Use black face paint or makeup to fill in the center of the clown eyebrows. Choose a black that is darker than the other black face makeup you have used to create facial hair and contour eyes.
