Everyone loves a clown. Clowns are a comedians in outlandish clothing and with painted faces. Clowns are known for their white faces and red noses. However, adding black to a clown's makeup makes the facial expressions stick out more. Adding the black makeup takes a steady hand and a good imagination.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White face paint
  • Black face paint
  • Sponges and brushes
  • Water
  • Paper towel or rag
  1. Step 1

Pull any hair away from the face. Cover the face with a thick coat of white paint. Some clown faces include painting the neck white as well. Other clowns stop at the chin. This is your discretion.

  2. Step 2

Chose a style of clown or a look you want to use. Decide on the clown face design before you start painting your face.

  3. Step 3

Start with the forehead and work your way down the face. Use a thin brush so the makeup is easy to remove if you make a mistake. Be careful with makeup around the eyes. Some people are sensitive around their eyes. If the clown's eyes begin to water, wash off the makeup and choose a different design.

  4. Step 4

Add thicker lines as you move along and are happy with the design you've drawn. End at the mouth. Draw the outline of the type of mouth you want.

  5. Step 5

Draw outlines around different colors on the face. After adding all the desired designs, outline them all in black. This helps the painted designs stand out from the white makeup.

  6. Step 6

Dab the makeup with powder to avoid smears and runs.

  7. Step 7

Wash the paint out of the sponges and brushes. Dried paint ruins paint brushes and sponges.
