Circuit bending can a fun and exciting hobby. It requires a few basic tools, some knowledge of electronic toys, a couple of electronic toys and some creativity. With those traits and tools you can learn to circuit bend at home. Finding a circuit bend on the board is one of the most basic things to learn.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Gather the items you need for your circuit bending project. This will likely include a soldering iron, solder, the toy you are bending, electrical tape, a variety of switches or jacks and a spool of wire. You also need to make sure you are working on a heat-resistant surface. If you don't have a heat-resistant surface, you can get a heat-resistant pad at a craft or hardware store.
Step2
Take the cover off of the toy and find the motherboard. Every electronic item has a mother board, which is what is programmed so the toy will operate in the way it is supposed to. Once you have located it, carefully remove it from the toy. It will not come completely out because of the wiring and that is good, just lift it from the housing so you can play with it.
Step3
Use alligator clips to explore the mother board. Clip one onto a random circuit, then while the toy is playing or while you are pushing buttons to make sounds, if need be, clip the other clip around on different circuits to find areas you can bend to make interesting sounds.
Step4
Explore the board in this manner until you find the areas you want to bend. To help you remember the ones you are interested in, consider marking with page markers or something small to just rest lightly on the circuit to remind you of the ones you like.
