Things You'll Need:
- Electric drill with a 1/4-inch drive bit holder and a Phillip's head bit
- Thick towel (optional)
-
Step 1
Turn the Aquabug upside down on the work bench to access the bottom of the cleaner. You may want to put the cleaner on a thick towel to keep it from moving around while you work on it.
-
Step 2
Note that there are 5 stainless steel Phillip's head screws holding the bottom assembly to the rest of the cleaner, but only three of the screws are easy to see. They run through the bottom plate at the center of the assembly. Remove these 3 screws first, and put them in a container so they won't roll away.
-
Step 3
Remove the bottom plate and rubber throat and set them aside.
-
Step 4
Push the front flap forward to expose the remaining 2 screws holding the bottom assembly in place. Remove these 2 screws with the electric drill and Phillip's head bit and add them to the container.
-
Step 5
Pull the bottom assembly up gently with your fingers to separate it from the cleaner housing and set the rest of the cleaner aside. The bottom assembly is now ready for inspection and repair.
