Reassembling the medium turbine assembly of the Aquabug requires putting several parts back in place in the upper middle body. The medium turbine turns the top gear, the medium gear and the gears in the gearbox. All these gears work together to run the cleaner during its cleaning cycle. Here's how to reassemble the medium turbine assembly.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Electric drill with a 1/4-inch drive bit holder and a Phillip's head bit
  1. Step 1

Set the upper middle assembly housing top side up on a work bench.

  2. Step 2

Locate the bushing housing hole in the top side of the assembly housing. Push the bushing into the hole as far down as it will go. The top edge of the bushing will be slightly above the hole if you install it properly.

  3. Step 3

Push the top gear shaft into the bushing. Hold the top gear in place with your thumb and turn the upper middle housing over. Push the bottom gear onto the hexagonal shaft of the top gear. Make sure the gears spin freely.

  4. Step 4

Turn the upper middle assembly right side up and insert the screw through the center of the upper gear. Tighten the screw with the drill set on the lowest torque setting so you don't over tighten it. Check again to be sure the gears spin freely.

  5. Step 5

Place the medium turbine onto the metal center shaft of the turbine housing. Spin the turbine with your fingers to be sure it doesn't bind.

  6. Step 6

Lay the upper middle housing upside down on the work bench and push the turbine housing into place so the metal shaft protrudes through the hole in the upper middle housing and the screw tabs on the turbine housing line up with the screw holes in the upper middle housing.

  7. Step 7

Put a screw into each of the turbine housing tabs and screw them into place with the electric drill set on the lowest torque setting.

  8. Step 8

Reverse the upper middle housing so it sits right side up, and push the middle gear onto the metal shaft to complete the assembly. Spin the gear to be sure all the gears mesh and spin freely.
