Step 1
Lay the gearbox on the work bench so the 4 tabs are up.
-
Step 2
Pick up the nylon bushing and note that it has a square hole in the middle. This square hole fits over the square shaft protruding up from the gearbox. Push the bushing onto the shaft.
-
Step 3
Push the black plastic controller onto the square shaft over the bushing. This piece looks like a disc attached to a shaft. It has a large section cut out of the circle, and it is designed this way, even though it may look broken to someone unfamiliar with the design.
-
Step 4
Test the gearbox by finding the small hole in one side of the gearbox. Put your lips over the hole and blow vigorously into the gearbox. This will make the gears spin rapidly and the controller turn very slowly. If you can hear the gears spinning and see the controller turning slowly, the gearbox is working properly.
-
Step 5
Set the gearbox in place in the lower middle housing by turning the housing upside down on the work bench. The gearbox has a tab that fits into the slot in the lower middle housing. It will only go in one way. Push it down into place.
