Things You'll Need:
- 12-inch squeegee
- Window washing sponge
- Towels or a tarp
- Small rags
-
Step 1
Dampen a cloth and clean around the window frame. Start at the bottom corner and work around to the other bottom corner. Wipe the edge of the glass where it meets the frame. Work quickly so that the window doesn't dry.
-
Step 2
Submerge the sponge in the bucket of prepared cleaning solution. Wet the windows with the sponge. Rub out any hand prints or marks on the window.
-
Step 3
Wipe across the top of the window to prevent drips. Put a towel or tarp directly under the window to protect the floor or carpet.
-
Step 4
Place the squeegee blade up against the top edge of the glass. Push one end of the squeegee against the vertical edge of the window.
-
Step 5
Pull the squeegee straight down the glass while maintaining even pressure on it. Drag the squeegee away when the blade makes contact with the bottom edge of the glass. Wipe the squeegee blade and the bottom of the window frame.
-
Step 6
Repeat Step 5, working across the window. Overlap the edge of the squeegee onto the just completed section to avoid streaks.
-
Step 7
Practice using the squeegee in an "S" motion back and forth across the glass in one motion. Keep the blade pressed against the window throughout the process to avoid streaks.
