Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mallet
  • Bolts
  • Washers
  • Drill
  • 4 pieces of wood 2-by-8-by-4 inches
  • Ratchet
  1. Step 1

Drill two of the boards. Measure in 2 inches from each end and .75 inch from the edge and drill both ends of two boards using a wood boring bit. Bore into the wood about 3/4 of an inch.

  2. Step 2

Clear the sawdust from the hole and insert the washer. The washer should set snugly and flat to guarantee a tight join between the two pieces of wood.

  3. Step 3

Align the holes on the boards at a right angle to the ends of the other two boards to form your frame. The alignment doesn't have to be perfect as the bolts will bring them together tightly.

  4. Step 4

Slip the bolt into the hole and strike it with the mallet to set it firmly in the hole and to start it into the other board.

  5. Step 5

Ratchet the bolts down tightly. Repeat the process on the opposite side. The boards should be joined securely.

  6. Step 6

Put the frame in for you square foot square foot garden. The square foot garden is now ready to receive the soil and plants.
