1
Cut an 8 ½-by-11 inch sheet of stiff red paper into an 8 ½-by-8 ½ inch square. Use a heavy paper like card stock--for this project, construction paper is too thin.
-
2
Score the red sheet of paper in half diagonally. You can use either a scoring tool or a sharp-edged object like a ruler. After you score the paper, fold it in half diagonally, making sure to match up the corners exactly. Your red sheet of paper should now be in the shape of a triangle.

3
Fold the left corner of your triangle in so that the tip meets the right side of the triangle 3 ½ inches from the top. Then fold the right corner of the triangle so that its tip meets the left side of the triangle 3 ½ inches from the top. Fold the top layer of the triangle's point down.
-
4
Take a sheet of stiff white paper (like cardstock) and cut it into a 3 ½-by-3 ½ inch square. Cut the square in half diagonally so that you have two white triangles. Put one of the triangles aside--you only need one for each box.
-
5
Stamp the triangle with a Valentine's Day-themed rubber stamp and red ink, draw a design on it with markers or decorate it with stickers. If you use a stamp, stamp randomly and make sure some of the stamps go off the triangle--it shouldn't look too perfect.
-
6
Put a small amount of glue or other adhesive on the white triangle and affix it to the top of your treat box.

Tips & Warnings
Use your scoring tool to fold your paper tightly. Stamp other parts of the Valentine's Day treat box, if you wish.
Create tags for your Valentine's Day treat boxes out of scrap pieces of red or white paper so you can personalize them.
Change the paper colors and make treat boxes for other holidays. Use yellow and lavender for Easter, red and blue for Independence Day, orange and black for Halloween and so on.
