How to Care for Sugar Skull Molds

You've spent your time searching for sugar skull molds to buy. You've spent your money purchasing sugar skull molds. Now, you don't want to ruin them. Make sure that you care for your sugar skull molds so that you can use them time and time again.

Instructions

1. Fill your sink with lukewarm, soap-free water. Hot water causes plastic molds to warp and discolor over time.

2. Clean the molds using your fingers. Be sure to get into each of the detailed areas, such as the teeth and eyes.

3. Shake the sugar skull molds to remove any excess water from the detailed areas.

4. Dry the molds completely with a lint-free dishcloth or paper towel before molding any additional sugar skulls. Any water that remains in the mold affects your sugar skull mixture.

5. Store sugar skull molds flat and in a cool location.

Tips & Warnings

• Wash sugar skull molds only when they are dirty and molded pieces are not forming correctly.

• Mold approximately six batches of the sugar skull mixture before washing.

• Don't use any soap to wash sugar skull molds.

• Don't wash sugar skull molds in a dishwasher.
