How to Remove Egg Yolk and White From Dyed Easter Eggs

Decorating eggs for Easter is a great tradition to take part in with your family. Many know how to hard boil and dye eggs, but there is another method that is simple and will create an egg to decorate and show, not hide. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Find an egg that is fresh and as symmetrical as possible. Find a needle that is small enough to pierce through the shell without causing a large enough hole to compromise the integrity of the shell structure.

    • 2

Hold the egg securely in your hand and try to punch a hole in the top of the egg. Try to do this in one swift motion to avoid causing splintering and cracking of the area around the hole. Repeat this process for the bottom of the egg. Do this over a bowl, in case the egg breaks. Stick the needle up into the egg and gently move it around to puncture the yolk and make it easier to drain.

    • 3

Drain out the yolk and whites. You can do this three different ways. You can hold the egg and allow it to drain, place the egg in a stand of some kind and allow it to drain over a bowl, or blow on the top and force the egg out through the bottom. If you blow in it, be very careful.

Decorate as you wish. Once the egg has completely drained, you can proceed with decorating it as you want. Handle the egg carefully, as it is just as fragile. It can be decorated with items glued on to it or painted and displayed at your next Easter gathering.
