Cut your photograph down to size for your Christmas photo frame. If you have a computer program that can do this for you, you can print it out at the correct size.

Lay your felt square in front of you. Using a ruler and marker, draw lines where you want to cut for the inside of the frame. Most frames look good when you use a border that is between 1/2 inch and 1 inch.

Cut carefully along the lines you draw. To cut the inside without harming the outside, fold the felt in half and cut a small hole. Then, stick your scissors into the hole and cut until you reach the line. Follow the line all around the frame.

Tips & Warnings
It is difficult to cut felt with scissors. Make things easier by using iron-on interfacing, which makes fabric stiff.
When creating several homemade felt picture frames for your Christmas tree, vary the sizes for a more interesting look.
Don't cut your picture too small. If you do, the back of your frame may be visible.
The lines you draw for cutting will still be visible on your frame. Make sure you use the opposite side as the front so that you can't see the lines in the finished product.
