Fusible webbing is used to adhere materials to each other. Fusible webbings come in different thicknesses and are produced by several manufacturers. Choose a webbing thickness that will suite the needs of your felt Christmas frames. Follow the manufacturer instructions for iron settings and ironing times.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Felt squares
  • Fusible webbing
  • Iron with no steam
  • Old T-shirt
  • Scissors
  • Pen or pencil

Step1
Place one of the squares on the fusible webbing. Trace around the square using a pencil or pen. Remove the felt from the webbing and cut the square out.
Step2
Trim the webbing so that it is just smaller than the actual size of the felt Christmas frame square.
Step3
Lay the felt face down on an iron safe surface. Place the fusible webbing on top of the felt square, shiny side down.
Step4
Gently lay an old T-shirt or piece of 100 percent cotton material on top of the squares, so as not to misplace the webbing.
Step5
Heat the iron to the cotton or wool setting. Turn off the steam. Test iron on the ironing board to verify that the steam is turned off.
Step6
Press the iron firmly onto the felt Christmas frame square. Slowly move the iron back and forth over the square. Iron the webbing and square for about 10 seconds.
Step7
Remove the iron and set it aside. Take the cloth off of the square. Let the felt square and webbing sit until it is cool to the touch. Peel off the paper backing.
