As much as you love your RC car, you might be doing some serious damage by not properly caring of its tires. If you want to maintain your tires, you'll need to check them every time you run and also follow some basic guidelines.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Inspect your RC car tires after a race or after you've been running the car. This will give you the chance to notice any damage on your car, including the tires.

  2. Step 2

Wipe down the tires using a damp cloth or paper towels. Leaving mud, dirt or other types of debris on the tires can cause serious damage later.

  3. Step 3

Use the right tires for the right situation. This is the most important thing you can do to maintain your RC car tires. Ask a professional for help or advice if you need it.

  4. Step 4

Keep the water and moisture to a minimum. Since most RC tires are glued onto the wheel, too much water can cause rotting.

  5. Step 5

Glue the tires back into place when needed. Your tires may come unglued due to regular use and if this happens, you'll need to glue them back on.

  6. Step 6

Replace when needed. If your RC car tires show significant wear and tear even with regular maintenance, it's time to replace them.

Tips & Warnings
  • A general all-purpose tire is a good choice for beginners since the smaller design adds traction. But be sure to reserve these tires for racing surfaces and change them out when taking your RC car on pavement.
