Step 1
Decide what model of RC car or truck body you like the best. There's no right or wrong here; it's a matter of personal taste. Nearly every major auto manufacturer is available as a body.
-
Step 2
Choose between a truck or car body before you visit the store. Truck bodies are more durable and capable of racing on rougher terrain, while car bodies are more suited for paved surfaces.
-
Step 3
Pick the scale that you want. RC cars are available in 1:8, 1:10, 1:12 and 1:18, which can limit the body that you buy.
-
Step 4
Look for pre-painted RC car bodies if you don't have the time or inclination to completely design and paint a body from scratch.
-
Step 5
Set a budget and stick to it. A customized RC car body can easily cost a few hundred dollars, but having a budget in mind can make the process easier by cutting down your choices.
