How to Dress as a Comedian

When you are a comedian in a comedy club, what you wear is very important. Your dress can determine if an audience will like you or not. You want to draw attention to yourself, but in a positive way.

Instructions

1. Check the dress code at the club where you will perform. Some clubs have a strict dress code and you should abide by their rules. Call ahead and make sure you understand their dress code.

2. Wear anything that makes you feel comfortable. Many times, you will stand on your feet for a few hours, so you may want to wear tennis shoes or other comfortable shoes. Wear clothes that fit well. Clothes that are too small or too large will make you look bad. People will be laughing at you and not with you.

3. Put on something that makes others laugh. You may want to include something that stands out and gets people's attention. Wear something to make them laugh such as a funny hat, two different shoes or even put something on backwards.

4. Make sure your clothes match your show. For example, you do not want to have a lot of baseball jokes and come out dressed in a three piece suit.

5. Avoid dressing like you are going dancing. People are generally turned off by provocative or vulgar clothes.

6. Choose clothes with bright colors. Bright colors make people smile and laugh more. Darker colors are usually gloomy and sad colors.
