Step 1
Position a figure in the water. Remember, when a single-spaced figure enters a water tile, whether from a land tile or water tile, they have to end their movement.

Step 2
Step out of the water onto the land with a single-spaced figure and count it as two spaces. It costs one space to move up, as though going to a higher elevation, and then one space to move forward onto the land.

Step 3
Using a double figure has largely the same rules. They still have to count the edge of the water as an additional space, and they must continue forward so both spaces of their figure are out of the water.
