HeroScape is a favorite among wargame players for its easy rules and quick set-up. While the game seems simple on the surface, there's a surprising amount of depth in even the Basic version of the rules, particularly in regards to movement.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look at your figure's Army Card. On the Basic side of the card you will find a green section labeled Move, the number immediately following it is the amount of spaces you character can travel.

  2. Step 2

Count out the spaces you want to move on the board, if you can move five spaces then you can count any five consecutive hexes. Once you have found the space you want to travel to move your figure to that space.

  3. Step 3

Move up and elevation and it counts an additional number of spaces equal to the height of the new surface. For instance, a surface two level higher counts as two movement over the normal amount.

  4. Step 4

Step down levels with no additional cost.

  5. Step 5

Step into water and it ends your turn immediately, regardless of how much movement your figure my still have.

Tips & Warnings
  • All the rules above refer to single spaced figures; sometimes double spaced figures have slightly different rules.
