Step 1
Move your figures down levels as though the terrain were flat, moving down any number of levels has no additional cost or penalty. This is one of the largest differences in the movement rules between the two versions of the game.
-
Step 2
Jump down into water and the water rules take precedent. In short, if you drop down into water from any height, you must end the movement aspect of your turn.
-
Step 3
Position double-spaced figures similarly to single-spaced figures. Double-spaced figures don't have any special rules when moving down from a higher tile, but they must still end their turn on two level spaces. This can cause severe movement restrictions if your figure is in a place with a lot of elevation.

Step 4
Consider bringing some of the Master rules into the Basic game when it comes to moving down levels. The Master game has several additional rules covering moving down levels that bring a surprising amount of depth and strategy to the game.
