When using a professional recording studio, there are many components to know and understand. One of these important components is a digital-to-analog converter. The music may need to be converted and this is the device to use to do that.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Invest in good equipment when running a professional recording studio. This should be inclusive of your sound board, microphones, converter and software. One of the best converters to use is the Digidesign 002 and the preferred software is ProTools. These both can be found online through their respective manufacturers or at a local musical instrument store.

  2. Step 2

Make sure everything is connected properly. You will be taking sound from the microphone, probably singing, to the converter and onto the computer and software program. When the sound comes through the converter it will translate the analog sound into a digital file that will then be workable in the software.

  3. Step 3

Press the "record" or other recording button on the sound board you are using. Make sure the converter is on and transmitting and that input is coming from the microphone and the output is in the sound board or PC. Start the track. Once you have recorded what you want, stop recording.

  4. Step 4

Check to see that the track is of good digital quality or if there is another step in the process. Some converters may differ slightly in their use and recording capabilities. Read the user's manual for all the details on how to use the digital-to-analog converter in your professional recording studio.
