Using your Emery Board (and possible your finger nail clipper), gently sand/clip down any broken part of the nail that would be considered jagged. Make it nice and neat.
Step3
Rinse off the dust from your finger that the board made.
Step4
Dry gently.
Step5
Open the Super Glue, and then place a tiny dot/dab on the broken part of the nail. You can even use a Q-tip, toothpick -etc- to place the glue on, but make sure you get enough on there, to do the job.
Step6
Let it dry about 5 minutes -this is to ensure it's completely dry. (blowing on it might make the glue go places you really don't want it to- so if you do that, use caution)
Step7
at or after 5 minutes, check the nail to make sure the glue is doing the job -push upwards (from underneath of the nail)slightly and gently -if it breaks again, you need to add more glue...if it doesn't break, continue with the steps..
Step8
If you need to use the Emery Board again, to even out the breaks and glue, do so now. (remember to rinse off (and dry) your finger like before)
Step9
If it's a bad break, use a dark fingernail polish like red, purple..etc to cover the fingernail, which will also help seal the break. (keep it on at least a day or two)
Step10
Let Dry.
Step11
Add gloss, if you'd like (especially if it's just a small break to help seal it)
Step12
Let Dry. (if you did step 11)
Step13
Buff your nails - you're done and you still have your nail!
Tips & Warnings
you can also do this with artificial nails (but it's best to use the materials that came or that is used for them)
When removing the fingernail polish, use a Non Acetone remover. This will keep the glue sealed.
The glue should last about a 4 to 7 days (but that depends on how much you use your hands!) (lol) so could be longer for some...
Make sure not to glue your fingers together -if you do, use an Acetone fingernail polish remover, to separate them. (hey, accidents happen)
I do not recommend this with nails that were broken by car door slams -etc, but as what the article was meant for..broken nails by weakness, nature, excessive use..etc.

If you don't have time for surgery or don't like the idea of putting toxic superglue on your fingers, there's always the liquid nail bandage from Nail-Aid. It doesn't contain toxic chemicals and applies just like a nail polish. http://www.nailaidworks.com/cracked-broken-nails.php
