Abortion isn't a simple procedure, so it's critical that you find the right doctor. Your regular gynecologist may not be the right doctor for your abortion unless he specializes in it. Follow these steps to learn how to find a good abortion doctor.

1. Get a referral from your gynecologist. Your gynecologist can be a valuable resource during your search for the right abortion doctor; chances are he recommends many patients to an abortion doctor to help with unwanted pregnancies.
2. Ask a woman you know who has had an abortion. If you know anybody who has previously had an abortion they can let you know who they went to and if they had a good experience.
3. Call a pregnancy crisis hotline for support to find an abortion doctor in your area. They have clinics that they refer women to when they have made the decision to terminate their pregnancy.
4. Check into any clinic you consider going to for your abortion. Make sure that the doctor you use is a gynecologist or abortion specialist that has performed at least a hundred abortions and is up to date on the latest abortion procedures.
5. Ask a lot of questions before booking your appointment. You will want to know the cost of the procedure and what medications they use. If you don't get straight answers or if you feel like they are holding back information you should find another doctor.
