Instructions

    • 1

Make a batch of your favorite beef stew or buy a good quality canned stew.

    • 2

Heat the stew in a saucepan, a slow cooker or in the microwave oven. The stew should be heated through and ready to serve.

    • 3

Cut the top neatly off each round bread with a serrated knife. Scoop out the center of the bread carefully with a paring knife or spoon.

    • 4

Heat the olive oil in a small skillet and add the minced garlic. Saute the garlic until it's tender.

    • 5

Brush the garlic butter on the inside of the bread bowls with a pastry brush. This will add delicious flavor and will help to seal the inside of the bowl.

    • 6

Place the bread bowls in a 350-degree oven for a few minutes until the bread is hot and slightly crispy.

    • 7

Ladle the hot stew into the hot bread bowls. If the stew seems too thin, drain off a bit of liquid or thicken it with a bit of cornstarch mixed in water. If the stew is too thin, it will seep into the bread too quickly.
