How to Make a Ouija Board Centerpiece

If you're interested in the occult or just enjoy Gothic decor, nothing could make a more perfect centerpiece than a Ouija board. Whether you believe in its abilities to channel the spirits of the dead or just think it would make a neat focal point in your home, it's easy to create a unique Ouija board centerpiece. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Choose smaller items to use as accent with your Ouija board. A Ouija board on its own is a pretty plain decoration, and people may not see it as a centerpiece if it's simply stuck out by itself. Gather occult items to garnish it with, such as crystals, black candles or talismans.

    • 2

Use a plate holder or mini canvas to display your Ouija board. If you want your board to stand out instead of lying flat on a table or mantlepiece, use a plate holder or mini canvas to prop it up.

    • 3

Drape a gauze scarf or piece of fabric over the Ouija board. This will add a "veiled" effect to the centerpiece, and can also create the visual effect of curtains over the board to make it look like a mini stage.

    • 4

Arrange soft lighting around the centerpiece. Soft or indirect lighting from a small lamp or candles will make the Ouija board centerpiece appear mysterious. Harsh or direct light will make it appear out-of-place and diminish the gothic effect.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't want guests to disrupt your centerpiece by playing with the Ouija board, ensure that it's displayed out of reach on a mantle piece, or that the marker used with the board is not included in the centerpiece.
