Step 1
Consider your lifestyle over the last six to 12 months. If you've been sedentary or feeling sluggish, had fast food more than once a week or eaten red meat, it's time to get your plumbing cleared out. Fats and carbohydrates can and do clog your system.
-
Step 2
Look at your face and other areas where your pores are clearly visible. If you have a lot of acne or blockage, it may be time for a colon cleanse. As your body is freed of toxins and waste in the colon, the rest of the body will come into balance as well.
-
Step 3
Evaluate your waist. If you have a belly that just won't budge no matter how many sit-ups you do, or you look like you might have a baby growing inside, it's way past time to clean your colon. Your colon expands and continues holding in toxins, unprocessed food and many organisms, like parasites, until you take measures to eliminate them from your body. Some people report enormous weight loss and tightening of the abdomen after completing the cleansing process.
-
Step 4
Check the calendar for your last colon cleanse. If it's been more than a year, it's time for another. Your maintenance cleansing need not be as long or as thorough as your first.
-
Step 5
Make certain you have enough time available to do the cleanse. Colon cleansing requires a lot of bathroom breaks if you're using one of the more abrasive measures. Some cleanses, like Dr. Natura's, require a 90-day commitment but are easy on the body. Either way requires a commitment of time.
