The No Comply Grab on a skateboard is one of those skateboarding tricks that skaters call old school because it's been around for so long. It's also a great one for beginners to learn because it's fairly easy. If you do this trick without grabbing the skateboard with your hands, it would simply be called a No Comply. The Grab is easier to start learning first.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Get up to a good speed. Even though the faster a trick is done, the better it looks, this move should be done at only a semi-fast roll.
Step2
Roll forward headed at one of those long cement parking blocks. Spot the place on the block that you forward foot is going to step on. Keep your eye on that spot as you roll toward it.
Step3
Step onto the parking block just before the board's front wheels reach it. This takes a bit of timing to get right. At the same moment you step off with your front foot, apply pressure on the board's tail with your back foot to lift the board's nose high enough that the front wheels will sail over the block without scraping it.
Step4
Crouch enough to get your forward hand in position to grab up the skateboard. Grab the board. Let the back wheels hit the parking block. You want them to because that bump pops the board up higher. With practice you can get fairly good air.
Step5
Bend the leg standing on the block. Keep your back foot above the back truck (wheels). Jump into the air with the board's momentum over the block and move that front foot back onto the front of the board. Let go of the board and land.
