How to Moisturize the Neck

Keeping your skin healthy and radiant helps you to not only look more youthful, but it also helps you to feel better about yourself. Many women tend to focus on their face alone, never extending face wash, exfoliating products and moisturizers onto the neck, but this is a mistake. Your neck is just as sensitive and prone to premature wrinkling and dryness as the skin on your face, so be sure to treat it well.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Incorporate the skin from below your chin to your bust line into as many of your skin care regimens as possible. These often neglected areas sometimes have large horizontal wrinkles in the neck, sagging and dryness that show a woman's age on her neck.
Step2
Wash your neck while you wash your face before you go to bed. Use a gentle cleanser. Exfoliate with a loofah or gentle exfoliating scrub.
Step3
Moisturize your face and neck immediately after washing your face or showering, while skin is the most accepting, and the moisturizer can lock in the moisture on the skin. Pat your neck dry and apply the lotion with clean hands.
Step4
Rub the moisturizer into the skin, stroking upward to avoid pulling down on the skin, which seems to invite wrinkles. A good rule of thumb is always to pull upward when applying lotions or makeup onto your face to avoid the downward pull of time and gravity.
Step5
Repeat twice daily, or as needed. Most often, moisturizing in the morning and before you go to bed is sufficient, but if you have dry skin, you may need to moisturize throughout the day as well. And remember, if your face is dry and craves moisturizer, your neck does, too.
