How to Crochet a Bottle Warmer

Babies are always fun to dress up and accessorize, but why stop there? Crochet a bottle warmer that serves a dual function. Not only will it keep the bottle a comfortable temperature for the baby, it also makes the bottle look adorable.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 oz. knitted worsted yarn in color of choice
  • 1 yard of 1/2 inch ribbon in complementary color
  • Size F crochet hook
  • Row marker
  1. Step 1

    Chain seven, join to create a circle. Chain one, single crochet seven stitches in ring. Insert marker to show last stitch, do not join any of the following rings in this pattern, until specified to join the rows. Complete second round by stitching two single crochets in each stitch in the previous round. Move place marker to signify end of round two.

  2. Step 2

    Crochet a single crochet in the first stitch of round three. Place two single crochets in the next stitch. Continue in this pattern all the way around making to total of 21 stitches in round 3. Move place marker to end of round three.

  3. Step 3

    Crochet a single crochet in the first two stitches of round four, then put two single crochets in the next stitch. Continue this pattern to complete round four with a total of 28 stitches. Move place marker to end of round four.

  4. Step 4

    Begin stitching the fifth round with one single crochet in the first six stitches, stitch two single crochets in the seventh stitch. Repeat this pattern all the way around until round five has 32 stitches. Move place marker to end of round five.

  5. Step 5

    Complete rounds six through sixteen by crocheting 16 puff stitches in each round. Complete the puff stitch with the directions in the tips section below. Remember to move the place market at the end of each round.

  6. Step 6

    Join the last puff stitch in round 16 to first stitch in round 16. Create row to weave ribbon through by chaining five then double crocheting in the first chain. *Stitch one double crochet, chain two, stitch one double crochet in next stitch. Repeat from * around row 17 until back to first chain five. Slipstitch together in the third stitch of the chain five.

  7. Step 7

    Complete the final round by double crocheting two, chaining two, and double crocheting two in the chain two space. Repeat around row in each space between the two double crochets in row 16. Slipstitch to the top of the chain two. Cut yarn and weave end into crochet stitches to hide. Weave the lace through round 17 and tie in a bow.

Tips & Warnings
  • To make a puff stitch, catch yarn on hook before insert hook under next stitch, catch yarn again and pull yarn though to create a 3/4 inch loop, catch yarn again and put hook in same single crochet again, pull yarn up into another 3/4 inch loop. Repeat one more time from the
