Whether you're practicing, cheering at a game or performing for competition, cheerleaders put a lot of thought into their outfits and hair. The look becomes as important as the routine. Incorporating hair bows into your hairstyle is an easy way to add some more sparkle and interest to your outfit.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Choose hair bows in your school colors to maximize your school spirit look. The bows should match your uniforms and poms.
Step2
Wear bow clips with glued on pre-made bows to keep the accessories in place. Buy these bow clips online, made to order specifically with your school colors and mascot name. Clips come in various sizes and bow thicknesses.
Step3
Tie ribbons to your curly high cheerleader ponytail and let them hang down. Place drops of glue in the center of the bow and use bobbypins to secure the bow to your ponytail band to keep it in pace throughout your performance.
Step4
Use special bows such as pigtail clips and bundles of ribbons to incorporate color into any hairstyle. Add rhinestones, glitter, rickrack and other craft items to personalize your hair bows.
Step5
Wrap ribbons into your braids and attach the ribbons to your hair bow clips. Be creative with your bows to stand out at competitions and performances and to show extra school spirit for pep rallies and games.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure everyone has the same or similar-looking bows in her hair. The squad needs to look unified, even if everyone's hair is styled differently. Purchase bows in the same color patterns to ensure everyone matches.
