Step 1
Get a consultation. Some skin types aren't recommended for laser hair removal, so if you have dark skin and dark hair, discuss your options with the hair removal center before booking an appointment. The ideal complexion is fair skin with dark hair, but today's lasers can be calibrated to suit most other combinations.

Step 2
Decide where exactly you want the pubic hair removed. Some clinics do only a standard bikini line, while others will remove hair just about anywhere you ask them to. You need to choose before starting your treatment, since they'll need to treat the exact same area every time.
-
Step 3
Go easy on other hair removal before your treatment. You can shave the pubic hair up until the day of the laser treatment, but waxing and other methods that pull the hair from the root are forbidden several weeks prior to the treatment. The hair must remain in the follicle for laser hair removal to work properly.
-
Step 4
Prepare the pubic hair for removal. Avoid using harsh soaps 24 hours before having laser hair removal. The technician will apply a cold gel that numbs the area, and then hit it with the laser in small patches. The treatment usually takes only a few minutes, so any discomfort will be over quickly.
-
Step 5
Exfoliate the skin. For several weeks after the treatment, you need to exfoliate the area daily to remove the dead hair from the shaft.
