1. Check out galoshes that come all the way up to your knee. They make these rubber boots so you can walk in deep snow without your feet getting wet. Knee high rubber galoshes come in a variety of colors with black and white being standard.

2. Find galoshes that come up to just above the ankle for rainy and slushy conditions. Instead of wrestling into the knee-high boots, just slip these lower boots on when the snow is not deep.

3. Buy galoshes that fit over your shoes. They are pieces of rubber shaped like a shoe and meant to slip on over your shoe. These protect your feet from getting wet in rainy conditions.

4. Look for knee-high or ankle-high galoshes that go on over your shoe. With these kind of rubber boots, it is not necessary to carry your shoes separately. Just slip the boot on right over your shoe and take them off when you arrive at your destination.

5. Choose different color galoshes. Many shoe stores offer more than just black or white, so ask the representative for the color you like.

6. Try on the galoshes before you buy them. Galoshes do not always follow your standard shoe size, so make sure they fit. Check the toe area and take a short walk in them to be sure they will be comfortable.
